Slipping turn

  How do you correctly enter a left hand slipping turn? (opposite this for right forward slip) Roll the aircraft left and apply right rudder to prevent the turn.  Apply rudder until full rudder deflection is reached Continue to roll the aircraft to make it turn in that direction A note on the ASI and side slips.  Slipping into the wind (nose points right, left side into wind with static port on left) will cause the ASI to under read. Slipping away from the wind (nose points left, right side of plane into wind, static port on left of plane) will cause the ASI to over read. The difference is up to 10 knots (slides) Quote: Static pressure surrounds the can (aneroid capsule), dynamic pressure is inside the can. A left slip forces some air into the static, increasing it's pressure and SHRINKING the can. The can also shrinks because dynamic pressure is less in a slip as well.
